Project Description: ‘Deepening democracy’ beyond ‘rights talk’
In addition to the DRC work, Steve is currently directing the HIV and Globalization Project, a South African National Research Foundation (SA NRF) funded projectwhich runs from 2007 to 2012. This project intersects with Steve’s DRC research. The research has focused on fieldwork and interviews with members of Khululeka, a Cape Town based support group for men living with HIV. Together with Dr. Chris Colvin, the project investigates how members of Khululeka are engaging with questions relating to HIV, citizenship, livelihoods and masculinity (see publications below).
